I was commissioned in March 2016 to work on a vacant small one bedroom apartment in West Village NYC.
The challenge of the apartment was a combination of a tight budget, a week deadline, tiny bedroom and a plain fire place in the living-room.
I was the Inspired by the plentiful amounts of light that the apartment gets throughout the day, we decided to go for a light, bright, breathable and Zen design for the small sized bedroom, to give a sense of space and comfort. Keeping with the young, authentic and fashion forward West Village neighborhood, we designed an eclectic modern Living-room whilst keeping it cozy and warm by accentuating the fire place with plants and the use of natural rustic materials for wall mirrors and accent tables.
The location, building and purpose of the apartment is to be used for young professionals, with that in mind we designated a large work space that is usable as a dining table as well. We created a functional, inviting and catalog worthy design under a very tight budget and deadline, A design that speaks to a variety of young professionals in need for a short-term or a ready to move in home in NYC.
In Staging the apartment, I added a minimal amount of plants, accessories and books that have special meaning to me, to add a personal touch and a livable feeling.
I enjoy working on these projects, I feel driven by the challenges and it is such a satisfying feeling to walk through a finished product, results and be happy with your hard work.
